PRESBYTERIAN HABITAT BUILD 2011 We have decided to have Build Day on March 19, 2011. The normal time to complete the Build is six weeks. We will take Holy Week off and start again after Easter and finish the Build.
The build site will be either in the Summerdale or Foley area.
We will have our next meeting on Thursday, September 30th at 6:30 pm at the Presbytery office.
At that meeting we will have an update on the build site, the financial picture - and we will have in place the leadership of the Coordinating Team.. Please be in prayer about where God is calling you to serve.
We need two people who are good at coordinating to be our Co Coordinators for the Build. We need someone to be the overall Food Coordinator - someone to be the Coordinator of Publicity - someone to be the coordinator of Volunteers (someone has already volunteered for this) - someone to be In-kind coordinator - helping our churches locate in-kind contributions.
May all that we do and all that we are bring Glory to God and serve God and God's people.

Building Feasibility Committee update - David Irwin chairs our Building Feasibility Committee. Carl Snyder presented two possible designs to the committee at their July meeting. The committee will be visiting several churches with multi-purpose buildings to gather more ideas. Please keep this committee in your prayers: David Irwin, Chair; Nick Jones, Cheryl Macedon, Cynthia Malone & Carl Snyder.
Associate Pastor Pulpit Nominating Committee update - The congregation elected Julie Barrett, Chuck Carneal, Ruth Henderson, Jodi Irwin, Bob Malone, Matt Maurin and Jill McGuire to serve as our Associate Pastor Pulpit Nominating Committee. They held their first meeting on Sunday, July 25. Chuck Carneal and Jill McGuire volunteered to serve as co-chairs of the committee. Bob Malone volunteered to serve as secretary. They will begin writing the Church Information Form which, when approved by the Presbytery Committee on Ministry, will enable us to officially begin our search.
Congregational Nominating Committee update - Paxton Jordan chairs our Congregational Nominating Committee. They need members of our congregation to say "Yes" to our Master Jesus and serve as Elders, Deacons, and Trustees. When you're asked, please remember to pray for the indwelling of the living Lord Jesus as you consider God's call to serve. Terry Heilmeier, Juanita Parker and Jill McGuire serve along with Paxton Jordan. Please keep them in your prayers.
Music Director Search - Elder Carl Snyder will lead our search for a new Music Director. If you know of anyone qualified for this ministry, please send their name to us. We'll begin our search in mid-August.

Fall Garden plots are available! The Reach Out Ministry is currently working toward preparing our Community Garden for fall planting. It is not too late to participate. Plots are still available on a first come/first served basis. Also, any current plot holders need to remove stakes, cages, etc. by September 1, so the soil can be prepared for planting. There were many blue ribbon gardeners in the Spring planting; who will take the prize in the Fall? For more information contact the church office at 943-8325 or Paxton Jordan at 955-5501.
